Peaceful Principles
Transformation, Training and Workshops for Resilience

Testimonials

I enjoyed the different mindfulness resources/ activities. I learned so much about myself during the training I was able to actually “shut of”. It provided me with a private space to reflect on my own traumas and work induced stressors. Mindfulness and resilience is a part of my day to day life now. I have incorporated this practice within my role as a social worker supporting young people to better regulate their emotions.

For over a decade I have often had the privilege of witnessing Zia's facilitation of mindfulness & resilience training, with students, teachers and support staff. "Zia's many years of experience as a teacher, educator and group facilitator are evident in her confident, compassionate guidance. Her expertise and skilful way of teaching has helped many students and staff develop resilience and reduce the symptoms of anxiety that can arise within any educational setting. The variety of compassion focussed tools that Zia has in her wellbeing toolkit extend beyond teaching mindfulness and include skills and strategies to support healthier and happier environments to learn, play and work in."

"I started working with Zia 10 years ago. After just the first course I did with her, I knew something had shifted in me. Seeing clearly how powerful this could be for staff and student wellbeing I then organised sessions for professionals that I support. The feedback from these staff has been fantastic, almost everyone gets something out of it, and I’ve seen quite a few people who responded as I did – basically it has changed their life!! On top of this, those who completed the level 2 course have since successfully been able to work with hundreds of children and give them the strategies to help them to manage some of life’s anxieties. Some schools have adopted it across the school and seen some fabulous results. For me, Zia’s unique course has helped me to understand myself better, to allow me to be able to calm my mind, to stop ruminating and just be more present. Its allowed me to be a better teacher, leader and mother, and just to be kinder to myself on a day-to-day basis. There are lots of “mindfulness” courses out there. This is not one of them - it’s something unique – using mindful principles to understand how our brain works and how we might help ourselves and others to lead a more present and positive life. Highly recommended!"

“This course was ‘spot on’ We can all benefit from this, as we work with difficult issues and we need to think about ourselves or we will ‘burn out’”
- Tracey, Deputy Headteacher
"I was introduced to Zia’s wellbeing work some number of years ago. From the outset I enjoyed her down to earth, kind and practical style of teaching which I found immediately beneficial in my personal and work life. I then took the opportunity to move onto her longer course for those wishing to teach mindfulness in school. I have subsequently gone onto further training to coach Mindfulness. This Mindfulness and resilience training has been both life affirming and changing for me. The two combine beautifully in the Peaceful Principles learning journey and it continues to be a pleasure to share this work with those I teach. All of this has helped me enormously in facing life’s challenges, both small and large, and been the catalyst for significant and lasting personal growth."
- Kathy, Secondary school teacher
"This course is so relevant to the work we do. Real references to real life experiences and a very “common sense” approach. Zia’s feet are very firmly on the ground not “head in the clouds” about how to teach mindfulness. I use it personally now and I am confident to do this work with children,”
- Maria, Education Advisor
"I met Zia during a Mindfulness course that she delivered at my work. I feel it was a pivotal moment when I took the course as many things were going on in my personal life that were impacting me my emotional wellbeing. Fast forward to several months, I completed another course with her and at the prospect of not having this space that Zia helped me find/recreate, I decided to approach her for 1-2-1 sessions. This became a lifeline for me. Zia helped me reconnect with myself. Not sure a greater gift exists. Thank you, Zia."
